About The Project
Zen Hospice Project is a leader in palliative care. Its mission is to change the experience of dying by creating a space for living that offers the opportunity for individuals, their loved ones and caregivers to find comfort, connection, and healing in this shared human experience. The organization inspires people to live fully through their pioneering model of care.
Zen Hospice Project approached Argus to revitalize its brand with a goal of raising awareness and communicating the organization’s leadership in palliative care to a diverse target audience, not just those at the end of their lives. Our work included extensive research, brand strategy, identity, digital and print communications and brand standards. All done to expand stakeholder participation, as well as provide a strong platform from which Zen Hospice Project can consistently present its services and expertise to a broad community.
While the new design bears a striking difference to what it replaces, Argus took great care to create a thread between the old and the new to ensure those familiar with Zen Hospice Project are not alienated as the branding expands the organization’s stakeholder audience.
The new website is designed to invite exploration within varied and balanced page compositions. Zen Hospice’s value is communicated through stories within a simple architecture and user interface. The site is built on a responsive structure to ensure it can be viewed on both desktop and mobile devices. An intuitive content management system allows intuitive site updates.
The Zen Hospice Project logo communicates the continuum of life. Its form is based on a Zen Buddhism symbol, the enso, which symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance and the universe. The logo standards allow for vertical or horizontal use of this minimalist and striking mark. To extend and enhance the simple elegance of the logo, it is simply embossed in application whenever possible.
