About The Project
The mission of the John & Marcia Goldman Foundation is to have an impact on the quality of life of individuals and communities in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. In fulfilling its mission, the foundation focuses its grants in the areas of youth, health, and the arts.
Argus worked with the Goldman Foundation to create an identity and website that reflected the values of the organization in a contemporary, yet timeless manner. We began our process with a research and discovery phase used to develop a brand strategy to identify important attributes and create messages, followed by content strategy and wireframes for website creation. The website allows visitors to learn more about the foundation—what it funds and why— and how to apply for grants. Imagery quickly educates viewers about focus areas. We developed a Brand Strategy to identify important attributes and create messages, followed by content strategy and wireframes for website creation. Argus also created an identity sign for the Goldman Foundation office space.

About The Project
After immigrating to San Francisco in 1990, Margaret created hand-loomed knitwear in and began selling her creations to local boutiques. Within a year she was discovered by Barneys and the orders multiplied. The knitwear line grew into a full collection which led Margaret to open her first retail store at San Francisco’s Claude Lane.
Margaret’s collections evolve from a design sensibility that marries luxury with the effortless chic found in California. Margaret personally oversees the creation of her knits and sportswear, from initial design, selection of the finest yarns and cashmere, and production, to ensure the quality for which she is known.
Argus consults with and designs for Margaret O’Leary on a regular basis to support the evolution of the brand, design advertising, product packaging, retail website user experience, signage and outreach. We have evolved the main identity, created an identity for men’s line, Liam O’Leary, and developed an emblem for Margaret’s brand. Everything we do is meant to reinforce the richness and style of her clothing in a clean and sophisticated way, while focussing on her knitwear as the star.

STEMquest provides innovative opportunities and experiences for elementary and middle school students in California, focused on STEM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
Argus guided STEMquest through their phased process for solving brand challenges, beginning with conducting qualitative and quantitative research, competitive analysis to develop a clear understanding of the organization’s strategic goals, business objectives, audiences, competition, and challenges. The information gathered formed the basis for the brand strategy which defined positioning, characteristics, messaging and specifies necessary communication applications to meet business objectives. Subsequently, the name, tagline, visual identity and design elements were created to give the organization a unique personality and bring the brand to life. Finalley, the design elements were combined to create specific communication applications, such as the website, to engage audiences and clearly articulate who STEMquest is and what makes them important.
The new branding and website design showcases young students in enriched learning environments. STEMquest, as an organization, sees STEM as an engaging path to learning life skills and developing the interpersonal tools to help students thrive in their future pursuits. You can experience the new website here.
