Martin Webb: The Artist behind the Mural at MURAL

Argus hired local artist, Martin Webb (on the right, pictured with Argus Principal, Jeff Breidenbach) to design and build a 20 x 20 foot mural using reclaimed wood for the lobby of BRIDGE Housing development, “Mural,” located at McArthur Station, Oakland. Some of the wood comes from Oakland homes, you can see street names among the foliage. Martin’s inspiration came from BRIDGE’s mission of rebuilding and “re-knitting” a neighborhood that had been fractured by catastrophic development decisions, and by successive waves of social change.
